After a relatively quiet afternoon in City Square for Intercultural Day hosted by the wonderful people at Cowichan Green Community, the energy ramped up considerably by 7:00 when over 600 people packed the square to hear and dance to Delhi 2 Dublin. For just over an hour and a half without a break the Punjabi/Celtic Fusion Band had people dancing, jumping and waving their arms in the air.
There were little babies, there were 80 year olds and everyone in between. The bad weather held off all day and it actually became quite nice in the evening.
Thank you to Paul Douville, The Rotary Club (Per Dahlstrom and Geoff Evans), The Scouts, Cowichan Green Community, The Citizens on Patrol, the Auxiliary RCMP, the RCMP, the Duncan Volunteer Fire Department and the St. John’s Ambulance that made this terrific event possible.
